If something requires a closer look, we handle it in-house. Dry eye treatment, myopia control and progression tracking for children, contact lens fittings and more. No referral runaround.
Common Questions
Your Eye Care Questions, Answered
No referral needed. You can book directly with us by phone or online. New patients and families are always welcome.
Only if you have diabetes, glaucoma, or are at high risk of either condition. If you are unsure, call us before your appointment and we will help you determine your eligibility. Most adults in this age group are covered through private benefits plans instead.
We direct bill most major Canadian benefit plans including Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield, Blue Cross, Desjardins, Industrial Alliance, Empire Life, and The Co-operators, among others. Call us with your plan details and we will confirm before your visit.
You pay the remaining balance at the time of your visit. We will tell you exactly what your out-of-pocket cost will be before we proceed so there are no surprises.
OHIP does not cover frames, lenses, or contact lenses. However, many private benefit plans include an optical allowance. Check your plan or ask us to verify your optical benefit at the time of your exam.
Specialty treatments such as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy, Radiofrequency (RF) therapy, and contact lens fittings are not covered by OHIP. Many private benefit plans include some coverage for these services. We will let you know the cost before any treatment begins so there are no surprises.
