
Dr. Simi Mahil
As a partner at Mahil Optometry, Dr. Simi Mahil has been caring for patients in Brampton since 2006. With more than 20 years of clinical experience, she brings a thoughtful, thorough approach to every visit and takes pride in helping patients feel heard, informed, and confident in their care.

Her clinical interests include full-scope optometry, ocular disease management, dry eye therapy, myopia control, and specialty contact lenses. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Waterloo, earned her Optometry degree with Honours from the University of Manchester, and completed a residency year at Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust in the United Kingdom, where she gained advanced experience in glaucoma, pediatrics, low vision, retinal disease, and complex contact lens care. Subsequently, Dr. Mahil went on to completed her studies at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 2005 and obtained a designation to prescribe therapeutic medications for managing ocular diseases from the Northeastern School of Optometry in 2008. Her passion for research-based studies led her to complete a postgraduate diploma at the University of Aston, School of Optometry in 2025. Dr. Simi’s comprehensive training has transformed her clinical approach, integrating evidence-based reasoning into every patient interaction.

In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Mahil is a clinical supervisor for the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, helping train future optometrists and internationally trained eye care professionals. She is proud to care for many families across generations and values the trust patients place in her care.
