At Mahil optometry, we also provide complex and therapeutic contact lenses to correct large refractive errors and to treat conditions such as keratoconus.  Apart from soft contact lenses, we have access to the full range of rigid gas permeable and scleral/semi-scleral designs.

Contact lenses are great not only if you don’t like to wear glasses but:

  • If you play sports
  • If you would like bifocal/multifocal contact lenses to avoid reading glasses – this new technology allows you to read up close and see far away with the same lens
  • If you would like to change the colour of you eyes occasionally
  • If you are very short-sighted (myopic) contact lenses can make things seem larger and therefore, easier to see (glasses cause objects to seem smaller than normal for people who are very short-sighted)

We also provide specialist medical contact lenses for:

  • Keratoconus
  • KeraSoft IC lenses (Custom soft contact lenses for keratoconus)
  • Corneal degenerative diseases
  • Dry eye
  • Healing of corneal wounds
  • High myopia
